The course offers a challenge to all types of golfers. It is a good test of the Cat 1 golfer with water hazards protecting the birdie holes and superb old trees dominating fiarways making shot shaping a necessity off the tee and on most 2nd shots. Higher handicaps can play the course with only 5 holes where they will be challenged to play over water. The risk and reward opportunities for birdies on the Par 5's protect the course but give the golfer huge satisfaciton if they take on the course and win. Scenery is superb and I almost killed a stag as I left the clubhouse on the way home. Greens were very good for December the 8th and while the bunkers were out of play the round was still most enjoyable. I look forward to returning when the course is at peak condition next summer. The best holes on the course are the 5th a short par 4 birdie hole with water waiting for the 2nd shot with a wedge. 6th a lovely par 3 over water again a risk and reward hole. The 8th hole is dominated by a tree on the right of the fairway that must be avoided by a controlled draw off the tee. Tree was planted maybe 200 years ago and is well placed to make this a memorable hole.

Philip Walton did a superb job on the design and with a little investment this course could rival Mount Juliet or Adare as the best course in Munster. Clubhouse was very friendly and we were made most welocme.
