FORE!!! I've never heard it roared so much on a course, and not by us. At one point I missed a fairway slightly right and was adjacent to another fairway which had 6 people playing 2 other holes. Had I sliced it a bit more then it would have been a congregation of 7 people in the space of about 30 metres playing 3 separate holes. A helmet wouldn't be a bad idea, in my opinion there are very serious safety issues throughout this course. I had to jump to avoid a ball on one fairway believe it or not. It's built on a sheer mountain slope, not a good spot for a course at all. Good shots won't necessarily be rewarded and poor shots won't necessarily be punished. You'll get plenty of practice hitting balls that are significantly below your feet. I thought the greens played at different speeds and the general condition was very average. It's a very tough walk and it's no surprise in hindsight that all the buggies were taken.

On a positive note the view of Dublin is spectacular. At one point you have a perfect view of Bull Island, Ireland's Eye and Lambay. The view of Three Rock is nice too. There's a fair bit of interesting wildlife around. However I wouldn't describe the course itself as beautiful. There are some interesting holes that throw down the gauntlet and test to see if you can play a perfect shot for high reward, but in general the word 'grind' seems apt for the course.
